The CAD/CNC Programming Department is responsible for drafting of shop prints and for programming of CNC equipment.

Except for visits to the shop floor, personnel in the CAD/CNC department spend most of their time in an ordinary office environment.

Inspection equipment used includes verniers, micrometers, calculators, and computers.

System software

Solidworks® by Solidworks Corporation and AutoCAD ® by AutoDesk, Inc.
We use Solidworks for design and engineering.  Autodesk's AutoCAD is used for CNC programming. Of course, there are still uses for paper and pencil.

Striker Systems®
For programming our CNC Turret Presses and Laser Cutting Machine we use Striker Systems® Software. This collection of programs is an add-on to AutoCad. It fully integrates our 2D and 3D AutoCad drafting with CNC machine programming. The software performs automatic unfolding and flay layout dimensioning. We can nest parts for optimum material use and select tooling and punching paths for optimum machine performance.

Amada ® DNC
We use Amada's AMP1E @copy system for DNC transfer of CNC punching programs to the Turret Presses. The software also performs graphic simulation of the punching program for training purposes. We also have the Amada 2D package available as an alternative to the Striker System.
